Remaking Wookiee: Chewbacca Becomes a Character on 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' - NYTimes.com

Remaking Wookiee: Chewbacca Becomes a Character on 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' - NYTimes.com
I know some folks are haters when it comes to anything prequels, and also like to complain when GL does not do anything "new".  I for one am super excited to see Chewbacca back.  Not that he ever went anywhere, but to see a bit more leading up to him becoming part of the original trilogy is a good thing.  Haven't you ever wondered how him and Han got together?...

May the Force be with you Irvin Kershner

Irvin Kershner, passed away today at age 87. He was the director of Empire Strikes Back. From listening to the Forcecast I know he had been sick for some time. Many were hoping he would make speedy recovery, instead he has become one with the Force.

May the Force be with you Irvin. You will be missed...

May the Force be with me...

It's official.  I made the purchase tonight.  My broseph and I are headed to Star Wars in Concert!  Should be a great time.  Will be a great chance to hang out and check out some of the amazing costumes and props before and hopefully after the show.  One thing is for sure, my camera is coming with me.

I always wonder what is is that draws me in to the Star Wars universe, I guess I may never really know for sure.  But its been a fun ride so far, and what started out as a disappointing year when I found out there would be no Fan Days III turned into me jumping up and down when I got a text from my sister in law with the amazing news.  Why Iowa of all places I will never know.  But it is truly a blessing and I am not going to miss out this time.  I hope to see you there and I would be a scruffy looking nerf herder if I didn't end my post by saying...Wait for it...

May the force be with you...

Found Troopers

This past week I wish I had one of these suits to get me around in the brutal cold.  When you have -20 or more degree wind-chills it would definitely help you from becoming a frozen chunk of meat.  Apparently I need to find some contacts in the 501st.

I think I'm headed to Tatooine

After leaving World of Warcraft I was not sure that I would be making any sort of return to MMO gaming.  I was very reluctant to get into WoW in the furst place as I thought it was crazy that I would have to pay a monthly fee to play a game that I had already paid for.

Enter one of the major passions in my life:  Star Wars.  There is a MMO coming out this year called Star Wars: The Old Republic.  Some of the characters looked pretty cool, I have to admit any chance to get into the world that I love to escape to in my imagination always peaks my interest.  But there has been a history of many of the games being duds that are made under the Star Wars license.  Well it looks like we may finally have an amazing product here.  I would love to have the opportunity to go into a game and explore the places that I have seen on film and the new animated series.  Lets hope this is released on time this year and is everything that it has the potential to be.  I'm not looking for a WoW killer, just looking for a place for myself and my fellow fanboys to go play.  Until then:

May the Force be with you...

A Tremor in the Force?

Apparently there could be a new Star Wars film in our future. This could be big, while I have no idea what era this will take place in I am always for more Star Wars. I just good to see that its relevant again. Read about the story here. Thanks to FirstShowing.net

In the meantime George, I am really looking for a reason other than the new animated series to buy a Blu Ray player.

And on a side note, I really hope New Era releases these incredible hats stateside. For now they are only available in Japan. While I am certain that this day and age you could probably place an order on their site (provided you speak Japanese) they will probably start popping up on eBay soon. The price may be a bit steep for some, costing as much as $105USD!

But rest assured this hat will give you some serious street cred when you are hanging out at the local hive of scum an villainy.

Found Vader

Thought this might be something fun to do. I am going to post up random images from time to time that amuse me and that I think you might enjoy as well.

Not a huge sports fan myself but this is an awesome use of a Vader helmet. Nice work!

I posted this up a while back, but the idea that initially started out as a joke is actually going to become a reality. I have to admit I wish this idea had been mine, I have a feeling these are going to be hard to get a hold of. For those that are trying to get one: May the Force be with you...

The Old Republic Trailer

I was pretty sure that I was going to pick this game up already, but this really helped seal the deal for me. I really hope this MMO is successful this time. It has a lot of potential and seems to have the elements that would bring Star Wars fans that have been playing WoW over...

I have to admit I am very pumped about this game. I don't know a whole lot about it yet, but I do know that most of my time spend on my PSP has been playing Battlefront games. Thanks to IGN for the image...

And I thought they smelled bad on the outside...

I need this. It's just one of those products that you look at as a Star Wars fan and ask yourself: "Why didn't I think of that?" Hopefully they are able to see this one through, I think kids would get a big kick out of this.
